Miserere Book Trailer

As book trailers go, I don't think it will win any awards, but I did the best I could, and I'm pleased with it. I think the images and music set the right tone for the novel, and I guess that's what book trailers are all about.

My daughter, Rhi Reeder, helped me pick the music and get the beats to flow with the slides.

I certainly learned a lot. I now know how to loop .wav files, and I even inserted a two frame movie into part of it. In case you're wondering, I used PowerPoint 2010 to create the transitions and the slides. PowerPoint 2010 has a way to convert the file to a movie. I spent a great deal of time in a photoshop program that I have, picking the right RGBs of color for the text boxes. I also used the photo program to doctor the images.

Of course, having fabulous cover art didn't hurt the process any at all.

Teresa- I love that music! It's appropriately creepy- great job. It's harder than it looks to create a book trailer, and you did great!

I'm not sure that I've ever bought a book from a book trailer, but I haven't seen a lot of them, actually. Just for books I already knew I wanted-like Nightshade City, Tender Graces, etc. Authors I know on FB or blogs, so their trailers were magically in front of me.

I rummaged a bit through the "Fantasy Book Critic" blog and stumbled over his Robert Thompsons' post about your book there. After reading the post and viewing your video, I instantly ordered it at a German bookseller.

I very much liked the music to the video. Is there any chance to lay a hand on this music title. I am a rpg gamer and I would love if I could use it on my rpg sessions.

I purchased the track from iStock.com. The title of the track is "It's Coming", and the number is: 0000085272201 Wav44100.

I used Audacity to loop the track.

Hopefully that will help you track it down. I don't have much more info other than that, but if you need more, feel free to email me via the link in the sidebar and I'll do what I can to help. Finding music is a real trial and error process (drives me crazy!).

It will take about 4 weeks 'till I can lay my hands on MISERERE. Deliveries over the "big pond" will take that long unfortunately.

Hello Teresa,

my copy of the book arrived earlier then I expected. I got it on monday this week, and finished it today (friday).

I liked it very much. It's an fantastic book.

The mixture ranging from fantasy to religious content fascinated me, and I think the idea alone / the backbone of the story: angels, the fallen, the "4" worlds, the foundlings and the Katharoi, is unique.
It has the right pacing, it is enthralling, it's lively...short I couldn't put it down 'till I was finished.

Will there be another book / story from you that will play in woerld / this setting?
